Hisense RoamView is an unconventional take on an extra screen for the home. The 32S6S pairs a 32-inch 4K touchscreen with Android and a rolling base. It can be moved from the living room to the kitchen or bedroom, and the built-in battery lets you use the device without being constantly plugged into a power outlet.
RoamView specifications
The manufacturer claims up to 10 hours' battery life. The base allows adjustment of the display position, and the display itself can be detached and used on a tabletop stand. RoamView is intended for watching films, video calls, workouts or displaying recipes while cooking. The detachable design is more interesting than the wheels themselves: the screen can be placed on the benchtop if there isn't room next to it for the whole base.
Bear in mind, though, that this isn't a traditional TV with a tuner. According to the manufacturer's specifications, the screen runs at 60 Hz, and the whole set with the stand weighs about 25 kg.
Android in Europe too. What about the Polish version?
The OS situation is interesting. Hisense’s US materials point to Android, and crucially the manufacturer’s UK site lists the same system. That’s notable because it’s a departure from the VIDAA platform we associate with this brand’s TVs in Poland and many other European countries. It suggests that a possible Polish version of RoamView would also run Android.
The price in the US is about US$2,000. That's a big outlay for a 32-inch screen. RoamView therefore makes the most sense where its mobility will be used regularly.
