Google continues to expand its artificial intelligence ecosystem and is rolling out another important feature to a wider group of users. Gemini Spark, which until now was available only to AI Ultra subscribers, is starting to reach users on the Google AI Pro plan. The tool acts as a personal AI agent capable of handling complex tasks and automating everyday activities. The solution integrates with Google Workspace services and other parts of the company's ecosystem. Google says that after the US launch the feature will be made available in other countries as well. Spark is set to significantly broaden how Gemini can be used on desktop and mobile devices.

Gemini Spark automates tasks and integrates with Google services

Gemini Spark is designed as a personal AI agent capable of carrying out multi-step tasks. It uses integrations with Google Workspace, Google Search, the user’s location, the web browser and code execution capabilities. Google is also introducing new operating elements such as Skills, which are sets of reusable instruction templates, and Schedules, which automatically trigger tasks at a specified time or when selected conditions are met. Everything is built around the concept of a Task, the main goal the user wants to achieve. You can run up to 15 active tasks at once. Google emphasises that Spark uses the same compute limits as other Gemini features. A new Spark tab is already appearing in Gemini’s web version and as a separate section in the Android and iOS apps.

New capabilities include Gmail, Calendar and the entire Workspace suite

Since its launch, Google has significantly expanded Gemini Spark's capabilities, particularly in terms of integration with Workspace services. The agent can search and summarise messages in Gmail, draft replies and organise the inbox using labels. It can also manage events in Google Calendar, suggest new meeting times or update existing entries. Spark also supports Google Docs, Sheets, Slides and Google Drive, allowing it to create new files, edit their contents and manage stored documents. Support also extends to Google Keep and Google Tasks, where the agent can search for, create and modify notes, lists and tasks. Some operations, especially those involving private tasks, can be performed automatically, so Google recommends carefully reviewing commands before sending them. All these features are intended to make Gemini a much more practical tool for organising everyday work.

Gemini Spark is another step by Google towards creating an intelligent assistant capable of independently handling complex tasks. Expanding availability to Google AI Pro users means a much larger group will be able to take advantage of the new capabilities. The feature is expected to roll out outside the United States in the near future.
