Google is enhancing its assistant on televisions and doing it specifically. Gemini on Google TV is receiving a significant update that changes the way AI is used on the big screen. Instead of simple answers, a more interactive experience is emerging that combines images, videos, and text. New interface and more prominent Gemini
One of the first changes is the relocation of Gemini to a more visible spot. The assistant now sits directly on the top bar next to sections like Home and Apps. This means that Google wants AI to be a central element of the system, rather than just an addition hidden in a menu. The change may seem minor, but in practice, it increases the likelihood that users will engage with AI features more frequently.
AI Responses with Video and Interaction
The biggest novelty is the expanded visual responses. Instead of just plain text, Gemini now displays a mix of graphics, videos, and information. For example, when asking about sports, you can see live scores and instantly check where to watch the match. In the case of recipes, step-by-step video materials appear. There's also the "Dive deeper" option, which allows you to delve into a topic and receive more detailed explanations. This makes the television start to function a bit like an interactive educational platform.
Google is also developing features for sports fans. The new "sports briefs" offer short, narrative summaries of events for those who missed the match. Users receive scores, highlights, and key information about teams and players all in one place. This solution is aimed at people who want to stay updated but don’t always have time for full broadcasts.
The new update shows that Google wants to make Gemini more than just an ordinary assistant. AI on the television is meant to be more visual, interactive, and useful on a daily basis. If this direction is maintained, Google TV could become one of the most interesting smart TV systems on the market.
