Google is not slowing down in the development of Gemini and is regularly enhancing its artificial intelligence-based assistant. After a major refresh presented during the I/O 2026 conference, the company has prepared further changes for Android users. This time, the focus is primarily on the appearance and convenience of using the most important features. The update does not introduce a revolution but significantly improves the daily use of the assistant. Particularly pleased may be users who value the integration of system themes and quick access to AI tools.
ChooseTV gains Dynamic Color and a more modern look
One of the most important new features is the implementation of Dynamic Color support in the ChooseTV interface. This feature, known to Android users, allows for automatic adjustment of the interface colours to the selected system wallpaper. As a result, the assistant better blends in with the overall look of the device. The most noticeable changes occur when using the dark theme. The text box and additional buttons no longer use neutral grey shades but take on the colours derived from the chosen theme. In light mode, the differences are slightly less noticeable, although subtle visual improvements have also appeared there. The appearance of the dropdown menu after clicking the button to add new items has been modified, and the sheets and cards of available options have received a more vivid colour scheme. Google aims to increase the coherence between ChooseTV and the rest of the Android system in this way. Interestingly, the changes currently mainly concern the ChooseTV interface triggered on the screen. The full application still does not utilise Dynamic Color to the same extent. However, the company is likely planning to further expand this feature in upcoming updates. For many users, this is a minor change, but it contributes to a more modern and polished look for the entire assistant.
Important screen-related feature hits the main menu
Google has also made changes regarding how to use the screen content analysis feature. The “Screen content” tool allows capturing the currently displayed content and using it as part of a query directed at Gemini. Previously, the option was hidden deeper in the tools menu alongside features related to images and personal data. After the update, it has been moved directly to the main carousel menu. It is now located next to options such as Photos, Camera, Files, Google Drive, and Notebooks. This means access to the feature is much quicker and more intuitive. Google is clearly focusing on solutions that allow for easy utilisation of the context of currently displayed content. In practice, a user can quickly ask Gemini for an explanation of an article, analysis of a photo, or help in solving a problem visible on the screen. This is one of the features that best showcases the potential of modern AI assistants. The company has already begun widespread implementation of this change in stable versions of the Google app. In some cases, it may be necessary to restart the app for the new layout to be activated. Everything indicates that Google will continue to develop the integration of Gemini with the Android system, making the assistant even more helpful in daily usage.
Google continues to develop Gemini on Android and introduces further improvements. Dynamic Color makes the overlay look better and integrates more smoothly with the system theme, while the “Screen content” feature becomes more accessible thanks to the new menu layout. While these are relatively minor changes, they significantly enhance the comfort of using the AI assistant. This is another step towards deeper integration of Gemini with the everyday experience of Android users.
