OLED technology has been impressing with its image quality for years, but monitor users have often pointed out issues related to text display and small interface elements. Panel manufacturers decided to address these concerns. At the Computex 2026 trade show, Dell showcased two new Alienware models equipped with next-generation OLED panels. The most significant change is the implementation of the RGB Stripe pixel layout, which is set to significantly improve image sharpness during everyday work and gaming. This is one of the biggest changes in the world of OLEDs in many years.
Alienware introduces first 39-inch OLED 5K2K with RGB Stripe
The standout model in the presentation was the Alienware AW3926QW. This is an ultra-wide monitor with a diagonal of 39 inches and a resolution of 5120 × 2160 pixels in a 21:9 format. The manufacturer has utilised a modern Tandem WOLED panel from LG Display equipped with an RGB Stripe layout. As a result, users can expect clearer text and improved sharpness of fine interface elements. The monitor offers a refresh rate of 165 Hz at native resolution. Additionally, there is a special mode allowing up to 330 Hz when the resolution is reduced to Full HD. Dell emphasises that this is the first 39-inch OLED monitor of its kind on the market. The model also supports Dolby Vision, HDR10, and has a DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification. The manufacturer has implemented DisplayPort 2.1 and HDMI 2.1 with VRR support. Compatibility with AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible technologies is also included. Peak brightness is expected to reach 1300 nits in HDR materials. Dell has provided the device with a three-year warranty that also covers OLED burn-in. The monitor is scheduled for release in autumn 2026.
The second model focuses on Samsung's new QD-OLED panel
Next to the larger monitor, the Alienware AW3426DW has also appeared. This is the successor to the popular AW3425DW model and one of the first monitors to use the latest Penta Tandem QD-OLED panel from Samsung Display. The design features a diagonal of 34 inches and a resolution of 3440 × 1440 pixels. The refresh rate has increased to 280 Hz, making it a very attractive choice for online gamers. According to the published specifications, the monitor achieves a contrast ratio of 1.5 million to one and a response time of just 0.03 ms. The manufacturer claims 99 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space and support for over a billion colours. The model supports Dolby Vision, DisplayHDR True Black 500, and FreeSync Premium Pro and G-Sync Compatible technologies. Among the ports, we find two HDMI 2.1 ports, DisplayPort 1.4, and a set of USB ports. Dell has also applied an anti-reflective coating to enhance comfort in bright rooms. Similar to the larger model, the monitor is covered by a three-year warranty against OLED burn-in. The release of the AW3426DW has been scheduled for July 2026. The prices of both models have not yet been disclosed.
Dell joins the manufacturers focusing on the new generation of OLED panels with RGB Stripe configuration. The Alienware AW3926QW and AW3426DW models are designed to improve text readability without sacrificing the advantages of OLED, such as perfect blacks and instantaneous response times. Particular interest is raised by the first 39-inch 5K2K monitor on the market using this technology. If the manufacturer's announcements are confirmed in tests, it could be one of the most interesting monitor debuts of 2026.
