Apple has officially expanded the availability of the Apple Sports app to over 90 new countries and regions. The free service for tracking sports scores is now operating in more than 170 locations around the world and is set to play an important role during the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Live results will appear on the lock screen and Apple Watch
One of the most important features is live events displayed directly on the lock screen of the iPhone and on the Apple Watch. This allows users to follow the progress of matches almost without opening the app. Apple also enables the addition of sports widgets on the home screen of the iPhone, iPad, and MacBook, which further facilitates real-time tournament tracking.
