Apple is preparing one of the biggest updates to its services in years. With the release of new operating systems, users will receive a range of features leveraging artificial intelligence, designed to simplify everyday use of the company's devices. The changes will include, among other things, Apple Maps, Wallet, Apple Cash, Apple Music, Podcasts, iCloud, and the Find service.
Maps and the Find function will become much smarter
One of the biggest updates will be the enhanced Apple Maps. The Flyover feature will receive more detailed city views generated using a combination of aerial photos and AI technology. As a result, users will see even more accurate representations of buildings and surroundings while planning trips or exploring new places. There will also be Local Lists, which will suggest restaurants, attractions, or must-visit places based on anonymous trends and the popularity of certain locations. Significant changes will also be coming to the Find app. Users will be able to control the sharing of their location much more precisely by setting a specific end time for sharing. Apple has also prepared a new, unified Find app for Apple Watch that will combine the existing features for locating people, devices, and items.
Apple Wallet and Apple Cash Simplifying Everyday Payments
Apple is also significantly developing its financial tools. One of the most interesting features will be smart bill splitting in Apple Cash. Simply scan the receipt or take a photo of it, and the system will automatically recognize the items and calculate the amounts owed by each person along with taxes or tips. A new feature will also be the ability to create digital versions of loyalty and membership cards directly in Apple Wallet. This way, users will be able to store even more documents and cards in one place. Apple is also expanding Apple Pay. The new payment interface will present more useful information, such as loyalty points balance, available instalments, or account status. Stores will also introduce a Tap to Share feature, allowing quicker sharing of data needed to complete purchases.
More changes in Apple Music, Podcasts and iCloud
The autumn updates will also include the remaining Apple services. Video podcasts will be available on Mac computers and devices running tvOS. Apple Music will receive additional features for translating song lyrics, enhanced track mixing, and support for Hi-Res Lossless audio on Apple TV 4K. Meanwhile, Shared iCloud Albums will allow sharing photos in full quality, support more file types, and enable participation for those without Apple devices. Apple has not forgotten sports fans and Fitness+ users. The Apple Sports app will expand to more countries, while Fitness+ will be enriched with a new training program aimed at women going through menopause.
Apple is focusing on an even deeper integration of artificial intelligence with its services. The autumn updates are set to make using Maps, payments, podcasts, or photo storage more convenient and intuitive. Particularly interesting are the new features in Apple Wallet and intelligent solutions utilizing Apple Intelligence for everyday tasks.
