LG Display has begun mass production of a 24.5-inch Gaming OLED panel with a 720 Hz refresh rate. The new panel was designed primarily with esports players in mind. The manufacturer claims a response time of 0.02 ms.
OLED 720 Hz for esports
The new LG Display panel measures 24.5 inches diagonally. Around 24 inches is currently the sweet spot in the world of esports, as the manufacturer itself notes. A smaller screen area is much easier for a player to take in at a glance and doesn't force them to scan the display unnecessarily. The panel runs at Full HD 1920 x 1080, with a claimed response time of 0.02 ms. The manufacturer says the monitor is mainly aimed at racing games and FPSs. However, the most important spec is the 720 Hz refresh rate, which at first glance can be quite impressive.

The first monitor is already using this panel
LG Display has announced that the new panel is featured in ASUS's new monitor, specifically the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace. It's worth mentioning that this model has been chosen as the official monitor for the PGL CS2 Major Singapore 2026, the biggest event of the year in the Counter-Strike scene.
It'll be pricey
ASUS has set the price for the aforementioned model at €1,149. This clearly shows the monitor, featuring an LG panel, is aimed primarily at people for whom esports competition is more than just a couple of matches after Sunday lunch. The release date is still unknown, but the manufacturer has said the monitor should be released before the end of the year.
