Microsoft is not slowing down in developing the Xbox system. The latest update available for participants in the Xbox Insider program introduces a number of changes aimed at improving the comfort of daily use of the console. The manufacturer focuses primarily on personalizing the interface, social features, and further reducing the energy consumption of the devices. Some of the new features may seem minor, but together they create a more refined experience for gamers.
Easier to meet new friends and greater personalization
One of the most interesting new features is the expansion of social functionalities. Now, while browsing another user's profile, you can check the number of mutual friends. This solution is designed to facilitate establishing new connections, especially after playing together online or participating in community events organized around the Xbox platform. Microsoft hopes that this will encourage players to expand their friends network. The update also introduces new options related to the appearance of the game library. Users can display titles in the form of larger images resembling posters, giving the entire interface a more modern character. Additionally, new settings have been added that allow hiding selected status icons and customizing how content is presented. The producer has also streamlined the organization of the personalization menu by separating the main screen settings from the "My Games and Apps" section. As a result, finding specific options should be much easier. New shortcuts have also appeared in various parts of the system, allowing quick access to the most important settings.
Microsoft wants to further reduce energy consumption
The update also brings changes related to energy savings. Microsoft has started implementing a new solution for users utilizing sleep mode on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and older Xbox One models. The system can automatically switch the device to completely off mode, which the company claims uses even dozens of times less energy than simply leaving the console in standby. However, the manufacturer emphasizes that this feature does not affect the ability to download game updates, applications, or the system itself. Players also retain complete freedom to choose their preferred mode of operation for the device. The update also includes a small but practical change for those tracking upcoming releases. Games that have not yet been released can now be added to the wishlist directly from the product page. This makes it easier to manage future purchases and monitor new announcements appearing on the Xbox platform.
The new Xbox Insider update focuses on three key areas: personalization, social features, and energy saving. Microsoft is introducing easier friend search, new options for customizing the game library, and additional solutions aimed at reducing power consumption by consoles. Although these changes are currently reaching testers, there are many indications that they will soon be available to all Xbox users as well.
