Microsoft has launched another edition of Free Play Days, allowing players to try selected titles on Xbox consoles at no extra cost. This week’s lineup includes both games available exclusively to Xbox Game Pass members and titles open to all users of the platform. The biggest draw is the chance to play GTA Online for free without an active subscription. Other entries include Planet Zoo, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, and Crisol: Theater of Idols. Players can download chosen titles directly from the Microsoft Store or from their Xbox console. After the event, the games will be available to buy at promotional prices and players will keep all progress they’ve earned.

GTA Online and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 available to all Xbox players

The biggest addition in this edition of Free Play Days is the chance to try GTA Online for free on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles. Rockstar Games' title will be available to all Xbox users from July 14 to July 21 and does not require an active Xbox Game Pass subscription. Players can freely explore Los Santos and take part in the latest activities available in the game's online mode. Microsoft has also made Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 available without needing a subscription. The title lets you create your own fighter and battle alongside heroes from the Dragon Ball universe. The game offers an extensive online mode and the ability to play cooperatively with players from around the world. After the free period ends, both games can be purchased at discounted prices, with saved progress and unlocked achievements preserved. It's a great opportunity for anyone who has been wanting to try these titles before buying. Once again, Microsoft is leaning on familiar franchises to attract new players.

Game Pass adds access to three more titles

Subscribers to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and Essential have received access to three additional games as part of Free Play Days. The first is Crisol: Theater of Idols, a survival horror set in a dark version of Spain where the protagonist’s own blood serves as ammunition. The second is Planet Zoo: Console Edition, which lets you build and manage a modern zoo filled with realistically behaving animals. The third title is Looney Tunes: Wacky World of Sports, an arcade-style sports game featuring classic cartoon characters. The game offers competition in basketball, soccer, golf, and tennis, and supports local multiplayer for up to four players. All three games can be tried from July 16 to July 19. After the event ends, participants will keep any achievements and saved progress if they decide to buy the full versions of the games. Microsoft notes that promotion availability and discount amounts may vary by region. Free Play Days remains a regular part of the Xbox Game Pass lineup, letting players try new titles at no extra cost.

The new edition of Free Play Days brings five free games for Xbox users, including GTA Online and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, available without a Game Pass subscription. Subscribers can also check out Crisol: Theater of Idols, Planet Zoo, and Looney Tunes: Wacky World of Sports. It's a great opportunity to try several different titles and decide whether it's worth buying their full versions.
