Microsoft has started testing another update for Xbox consoles. The new features are currently rolling out to participants in the Xbox Insider Program and include, among other things, a refreshed console startup screen, new Gamerscore badges, and changes to the game library.
Xbox got a new startup screen
One of the biggest changes is the new console boot screen. Microsoft has refreshed the startup animation and boot sound, adding more vivid green themes associated with the Xbox brand.
The company emphasizes that the new look is intended to provide a fresher first impression right from the moment the console is turned on.
Microsoft is also introducing a new badge system linked to the user's overall Gamerscore. As players earn more achievements, they will receive evolving badges visible on their profile and in the Xbox Guide.
This change is meant to highlight the player's achievement history more strongly and show the progress made over the years using the Xbox platform.
The game library will become more transparent
The update also adds new filters in the game library. Thanks to them, users can more easily check:
which games they own,
which have been shared by other accounts,
which titles they have already lost access to.
Microsoft wants to simplify library management, especially for those using multiple consoles or sharing subscriptions and games between devices.
The features are currently being tested by selected participants of the Xbox Insider program. However, Microsoft announces that the update will gradually roll out to more users and will later be made available to all Xbox players.
Microsoft has started testing a new Xbox update. Players will receive a refreshed startup screen, new level badges for Gamerscore, and a clearer game library.
