Gamescom 2026 promises to be especially exciting for Xbox fans. Microsoft has confirmed it will be at the show with an expanded booth and a large number of playable demos of upcoming titles. The event will also be an opportunity to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Xbox brand. Visitors can expect more than a hundred gaming stations and many premiere showcases. There will also be meet-and-greets with developers and streams for those who cannot attend in Cologne. The company is promising one of the biggest presentations in its history at gamescom.
More than 25 games and 140 gaming stations await visitors
Microsoft announced that the Xbox booth at gamescom 2026 will offer 25 upcoming games and 140 stations for testing new titles. One of the biggest attractions will be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, whose multiplayer mode can be tried before launch. For the first time, the public will also get to play the campaign for Gears of War: E-Day. Visitors will also find the first playable version of Minecraft Dungeons II. Fans of the Fable series will see a special gameplay showcase prepared by Playground Games. Microsoft will also let attendees test METRO 2039, STRANGER THAN HEAVEN and the refreshed Halo: Campaign Evolved. The booth will also feature Forza Horizon 6, showcasing new features and upcoming collaborations. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will be present as well, with new content inspired by air racing. Altogether, players will be able to try several dozen titles spanning a wide range of genres. Microsoft emphasizes that the event is meant to be a celebration of the Xbox community and an opportunity to recall the brand’s history. As part of the celebrations, special interactive attractions dedicated to 25 years of the console have been prepared. The program will be rounded out by meetings with developers and presentations of new trailers.
Online broadcasts and numerous attractions for gamescom attendees
People who can't attend the Cologne show will be able to follow the event via streams on YouTube and Twitch. Coverage will take place on August 26 and 27 and will include developer interviews, gameplay demos and premiere trailers. Microsoft has also announced the return of Xbox FanFest, which will be held on August 26 at the Xbox booth. The company has prepared a range of accessibility accommodations, including Xbox Adaptive Controllers, height-adjustable workstations and a dedicated quiet zone. The organizer will also provide sign language interpreters and audio description at selected times. The Xbox booth will be located in Hall 7 and will remain open for the entire duration of the show. Microsoft aims to enable as many players as possible to experience upcoming releases. This year's gamescom therefore looks set to be one of the most important events for Xbox fans. Everything indicates the company has prepared an exceptionally rich lineup of attractions.
