Players Did Not Want to See Competitors' Logos
During one of Xbox's recent podcasts, head of the gaming division Matt Booty assured that the company will continue to clearly inform which platforms individual productions will be released on. According to him, transparency with audiences remains an important element of Microsoft's strategy. However, this approach did not sit well with some fans. Many players pointed out that during shows organized by Xbox, the focus should be on their own platform. Numerous comments criticizing the presence of PlayStation logos and other competing brands in promotional materials appeared on social media.
Xbox's Head Acknowledges It Was a Mistake
Asha Sharma, who currently leads the Xbox brand, commented on the issue. In a brief post published on X, she acknowledged that the company noticed the negative reactions from the community. “We see the opinions regarding the logos. It was a mistake, and I take responsibility for it. We are already discussing how to change this in future Xbox showcases,” Sharma wrote. This means that during upcoming events, Microsoft may limit the exposure of competing platform brands while still providing information about the availability of games on various devices.
Microsoft does not intend to stop informing about multiplatform launches, but it seems that the way of presenting this information will be changed. The reaction of the head of Xbox shows that the company closely monitors community feedback and is ready to adjust decisions that meet with negative reception from players.
