WWDC 2026 is getting closer. Apple is preparing big changes for Siri and its systems.

Calendar 5/29/2026

Apple is preparing for one of the most important technology conferences of the year. On June 8, WWDC 2026 will kick off, during which the company will showcase new versions of its operating systems and additional features related to artificial intelligence. While new device launches are not to be expected, this time the software may draw the most attention. There is particularly much talk about a comprehensive overhaul of Siri, which is finally set to become a fully-fledged AI assistant. In the background, there are also rumors regarding the first preparations for a foldable iPhone. Apple might use WWDC to showcase the direction of its products' development for the coming years.

Siri could undergo the biggest revolution in years

According to the latest leaks, Apple is working on a completely new version of Siri. The assistant is set to receive its own app and significantly greater capabilities related to artificial intelligence. There are even reports that Siri may partially use Google's Gemini technology. This would allow users to have more natural conversations and utilize generative AI features directly within the system. The new Siri is expected to launch with iOS 27, macOS 27, and iPadOS 27. Apple is also reportedly planning to expand Visual Intelligence features related to real-time photo and image analysis.

iOS 27 may reveal plans for a folding iPhone

Although Apple is unlikely to show its first foldable smartphone at WWDC, the conference could provide the first hints about such a device. According to leaks, the company is working on a model referred to as the iPhone Fold or iPhone Ultra. It is possible that iOS 27 will receive new multitasking features inspired by iPads, which will later be available on the foldable phone. New features are also expected for Apple Vision Pro, Apple Watch, and Macs equipped exclusively with Apple Silicon processors. This year's conference may also symbolically mark the end of an era, as Tim Cook is set to step down as CEO in September.

WWDC 2026 is primarily shaping up to be a major presentation of new AI features and a revamped Siri. Apple may also subtly prepare users for the arrival of the first foldable iPhone and a new generation of its artificial intelligence-based services.
