Until recently, OLED monitors were reserved for the most demanding gamers, but that's changing fast. Prices are falling, manufacturers are rolling out more and more models, and interest in the technology is clearly growing. According to Omdia's latest forecasts, more than 6 million OLED panels for monitors will hit the market in 2026. That's a 79% increase over the previous year.
OLEDs are getting cheaper quickly
Data from analyst firm Omdia show that global shipments of OLED panels for monitors are expected to reach 6.1 million units this year. That number is forecast to rise to 7.5 million in 2027. The largest buyer of panels remains ASUS, accounting for about 23% of orders. Next are MSI, Samsung and TPV, which owns brands such as AOC and Philips.
The growing interest is driven mainly by gamers, who value deep blacks, high contrast and the blazing-fast response times of OLEDs. Prices, however, are becoming increasingly important.
According to Omdia, popular 27-inch OLED monitors with a 240 Hz refresh rate became more than 40% cheaper in 2026. In the first half of the year, prices for some higher-end models fell to around $350, and in 2027 they could approach $300. In Poland, you can now buy an OLED for about 1500 zł without much trouble.
TCL could shake up the market. Plans include even 700 Hz
TCL CSOT is also preparing big changes and aims to challenge Samsung Display and LG Display. The company is developing inkjet printing (IJP) technology for OLED panels, which can reduce material waste during production. We wrote about this in more detail on ChooseTV.
The entry of another major manufacturer could increase competition and further lower panel production costs. For gamers, that means the prospect of a growing selection of OLED monitors at more affordable prices. For now, however, it’s unclear when these new technologies will affect the prices of specific models in Polish stores.
