British audio equipment maker Naim has unveiled the Mu-so Utopia, an advanced all-in-one sound system housed in a single enclosure. The unit offers 15 drivers, 720 watts of power and Dolby Atmos support. It's designed to perform well for both music listening and movie watching. The price, however, indicates that it's aimed at the most demanding users.

15 speakers and Dolby Atmos in a single enclosure

The Mu-so Utopia was developed in collaboration with French company Focal. The unit houses as many as 15 drivers positioned across the front, sides, and top of the cabinet. The system is powered by class D and AB amplifiers delivering a combined 720 W. It supports Dolby Atmos and uses spatial audio processing in configurations up to 7.1.2. That provides an immersive surround effect without the need to place additional speakers in the room. Special modes are also included, such as Dolby Movie, Dolby Music, and Sphere Gaming.

HDMI eARC, streaming and Hi-Res music support

Naim also took care to provide options for connecting the unit to a TV. The Mu-so Utopia is equipped with HDMI eARC, an optical input, an Ethernet port, and an output for connecting an external subwoofer.

The system supports Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, Apple AirPlay, and Google Cast. It also offers Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 6, and Hi-Res file playback up to 32-bit and 384 kHz. The device can be controlled via the Focal & Naim app, which also enables multiroom system configuration.

How much does the Naim Mu-so Utopia cost?

The Mu-so Utopia is definitely not a cheap device. Its European price is around €5,000, while in the Polish store Audio Color it appeared in pre-sale for PLN 20,999, with stated availability from November 15, 2026.

This equipment is for people looking for a combination of a high-end music system and a TV sound solution, without building a separate home theater setup. Can a single enclosure really replace an extensive speaker system? That can only be assessed during independent tests.
