The latest Marvel movie – Thunderbolts* The New Avengers – has just landed on VOD platforms. It can already be purchased on Apple TV, Prime Video, and Rakuten, among others. Standard? Up to 4K, Dolby Vision HDR, and Dolby Atmos – though not everywhere.
This is the 36th film in the MCU and the final chapter of the so-called Phase 5. Marvel has also released quite a few series on Disney+, but Thunderbolts* wraps everything up before entering Phase 6, which will kick off at the end of July with Fantastic Four: First Steps.
Reviews? Very good. Cash? According to Marvel, not the best – 380 million dollars. Probably that's why the movie shows up on streaming about 2 months after its theatrical release.
What's next? It will only hit Disney+ "later this year," so if you don't want to wait, the option is to purchase. And if you prefer physical editions – the UHD Blu-ray version will be released on July 29.
