Old Chromecast is mass failing
The first Chromecast debuted back in 2013 and was one of the most popular streaming devices. Google ended its support in 2022, but the device continued to work for many users. Now the situation has changed, as there have been mass reports of failures in recent weeks.
Users are reporting that the Chromecast has completely stopped working or has serious issues transmitting content from streaming apps. The issues also seem to affect YouTube, which belongs to Google. Some people claim that screen mirroring or browser tab casting still works, but traditional casting from apps no longer functions properly.

Google is currently promoting alternatives such as Google TV Streamer, NVIDIA Shield TV, or Apple TV 4K.
