Stranger Things 5 Trailer: Eleven officially develops… flying powers?

Eleven vs. Vecna – Stranger Things 5 In season 5, Eleven may gain the upper hand with her new flying power. Will she end the battle with Vecna once and for all?

Well, we have it. Netflix released a teaser for the fifth season of Stranger Things, and it looks like the creators decided to go all out. Eight years after the premiere of the first episode, Eleven (that’s Millie Bobby Brown, of course) has probably developed a new, absolutely crucial ability. And no, this time it’s not another variation of telekinesis – she flies. Or at least starts.

Short jump, big change

In the trailer, there is one scene that literally breaks the mold. The Eleven runs through a field, trying to get onto the roof of an abandoned bus – and she doesn’t do it “like a human.” She just… flies. Or jumps so far and high that it’s hard to call it an ordinary leap. It’s something more. It may only be a few seconds, but the context says it all: she is no longer the same girl who once barely closed the gate to the Upside Down, bleeding from her nose.

This is not a coincidence. It’s a herald of a totally renewed heroine.

Let's take a moment to go back: what could she already do?

Since the first season, we know that Eleven can do more than any other child from the lab in Hawkins. Telekinesis? Checked. Telepathy? Also. "The Upside Down" – that space where she looks for people in black? Sure. And in the fourth season, something even stronger was added – the attempt to resurrect Max. And this is not about a symbolic "saving," but about actually restarting her heart using psionics. The girl died, Eleven entered the Upside Down and… brought her back. Max returned, though in a coma.

That was a breakthrough moment. If she can save someone from that side, then seriously – flying starts to sound quite real.

But... did anything suggest earlier that it would take off?

Yes, but subtly. In the second season (remember the finale with closing the gate?) we saw Eleven levitating. It was something like a side effect of maximum power use. Back then, she didn't have control over it – she was floating in the air because her body couldn't handle the tension. But now? It seems that she has learned to control that power, not just to endure it.

And that makes a colossal difference. When someone stops being a victim of their own power and starts to use it consciously – we are witnessing evolution. And it's an evolution at the level of "MCU finale," not just teenage sci-fi.

Vecna? I see it poorly...

Vecna can obviously float – but more thanks to tentacles and the environment than on its own. It’s more of a "controlled horror" than true flying power. And that's where Eleven steps up a level. If she truly masters conscious flying – with telekinesis and empathy included – it might turn out that she will be the key to closing this whole story.

Release date? Set yourself a reminder in the calendar:

  • Volume 1 – November 26, 2025

  • Volume 2 – December 25, 2025

  • Volume 3 – December 31, 2025

So Netflix is giving us the final trilogy as a Christmas gift. Literally. And after this teaser – it looks like it's going to be more "Endgame" than "stranger nostalgia." And that's a good thing. Because fans have been waiting for this development of "Eleven's" powers for years.
