Samsung Electronics has officially presented a new generation of Odyssey gaming monitors and ViewFinity professional displays. The biggest novelty is the world's first 6K gaming monitor, which aims to set a new standard for image quality for PC gamers.
Samsung Introduces First 6K Gaming Monitor
The new Samsung Odyssey G8 in the 32-inch version offers a resolution of 6K and a refresh rate of 165 Hz. Samsung also implemented a Dual Mode feature that allows you to switch the screen to 3K at up to 330 Hz for a more esports-oriented experience. The company emphasizes that the new resolution provides significantly greater image detail and a larger workspace for both gaming and multitasking. The second model is the 27-inch Odyssey G8, offering a resolution of 5K and refresh rates up to 360 Hz in QHD mode.
Samsung is also expanding its OLED series. The new Odyssey OLED G8 will be available in 27 and 32-inch versions with a 4K 240 Hz panel and QD-OLED Penta Tandem technology to enhance brightness and panel longevity. The entire series supports NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium. Additionally, a DisplayPort 2.1 has been introduced to provide the necessary bandwidth for very high resolutions and refresh rates. Samsung is also heavily focused on reducing glare with Glare Free technology and enhanced HDR10+ Gaming options.
Odyssey G7 wider access to gaming
Samsung is also expanding the Odyssey G7 series, which aims to provide wider access to gaming OLED screens. The new 32-inch Samsung Odyssey OLED G7 offers a resolution of 4K and a refresh rate of 165 Hz, and with Dual Mode, it can even operate at 330 Hz at Full HD resolution. The monitor also features an incredibly low response time of 0.03 ms, which is particularly appealing to esports players and fans of dynamic multiplayer productions.
ViewFinity S8 Aims at Professionals
Alongside gaming models, Samsung also showcased the new Samsung ViewFinity S8 monitors for professionals. The 40-inch model features a curved WUHD 144 Hz screen and Thunderbolt 5 with transfer speeds of up to 80 Gb/s and device charging up to 140 W. Meanwhile, the 27-inch version offers a 5K resolution and USB-C.
The company emphasizes that it maintains its position as a leader in the gaming monitor market with an 18.9 percent share of revenues. Samsung is also expected to lead in the OLED monitor segment for gamers for the third consecutive year. The new models Odyssey G8, Odyssey G7, and ViewFinity S8 will go on sale on June 1, 2026.
