Samsung AI Forum 2025: the future of artificial intelligence according to Samsung and global experts

Calendar 9/16/2025

Samsung invited the biggest names in the world of artificial intelligence for the ninth time. This year's AI Forum 2025 takes place on September 15-16 and from the very beginning clearly shows the direction: AI is no longer a futuristic vision, but a tool that is set to change industry and everyday life.

Day One – Semiconductors in the Spotlight

The first part of the conference took place in Yongin, near one of Samsung's semiconductor factories. It's symbolic because the most discussion revolved around chips and AI. The main figure was Yoshua Bengio, a pioneer of deep learning, who highlighted the risks associated with current models. He presented the concept of Scientist AI, a model that aims not only to generate answers but, above all, to be based on facts. Less entertainment, more science – this sums up the vision.

Alongside him, representatives from the industry and academia spoke, including Amit Gupta from Siemens and professors from KAIST and POSTECH. They all agreed on one thing: chip production is becoming so complex that AI is no longer a luxury, but a necessity.

Day Two – From Generative to Agent AI

The second part of the forum moved online and focused on what fuels our imagination on a daily basis – generative artificial intelligence and its next stage, agent models. Notable names such as Joseph E. Gonzalez from the University of California, Berkeley, and Subbarao Kambhampati from Arizona State University appeared here. Discussions revolved around how AI can not only generate content but also learn, plan, and make decisions. The vision of "AI at rest" emerged as well, referring to models that analyze and learn when the user does not require anything from them.

No shortage of technological specifics came from the Samsung Research team – from automatic dubbing in the original speaker's voice to Document AI, which is designed to convert documents into data ready for large language models.

How Does Samsung See the Future of AI?

Samsung clearly demonstrates that it envisions AI not just in laboratories but in everyday devices – from smartphones to televisions. AI Forum 2025 was not an ordinary conference filled with buzzwords. It represented more of a preview of how artificial intelligence is set to become a practical and safe tool, simultaneously enhancing productivity and protecting against threats.
