PlayStation is once again giving players a voice and asking them to pick the best new game of the past month. The August vote features 20 titles representing a range of genres and gameplay styles. Among the nominees are big sports and comic-book franchises as well as smaller, more offbeat projects. The list includes, among others, Beast of Reincarnation, Big Walk, Madden NFL 27 and MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls. Voting is now open, and the winner will be announced after all votes are tallied.
As many as 20 games vie for the title of best August release
The PlayStation Blog has published the list of nominees for the August Players' Choice. The lineup includes exactly 20 new games that the editors judged to be the most noteworthy releases of the month. One of the most recognizable titles is MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, a fighting game starring characters from the Marvel universe. Also on the list is Madden NFL 27, the latest installment in the popular sports series. Action fans can vote for Beast of Reincarnation and Serious Sam: Shatterverse. Also among the nominees is Big Walk, a game focused on having fun with friends. The lineup also includes Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters, Blood Dungeon, Brigandine Abyss and Duskfade. There's the war game Hell Let Loose: Vietnam and more offbeat entries such as Lou's Lagoon and Mexican Ninja. Players can also choose Mortal Shell II, Once Human or the football title Pro Jank Footy. Other nominees include Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, Starsand Island, Star Wars Zero Company and The Sinking City 2. Rounding out the list is Wild Blue Skies. This broad lineup means the vote includes both big-budget titles and smaller games that can count on support from dedicated communities.
Players will decide the winner
The rules of Players' Choice are simple: each voter picks one game they would recommend to a friend as the best new release of the month. PlayStation doesn't impose any specific evaluation criteria. What matters is each player's personal opinion and the experience they consider the best from recent weeks. Regular re-releases of older titles cannot take part in the vote. Remakes are an exception, as long as they're substantial, ambitious rebuilds of the originals. PlayStation cites Resident Evil 4 (2023) and Final Fantasy VII Remake as examples of such titles. The list of candidates is prepared by the PlayStation Blog editorial team. The team selects the most notable releases of the month, which are then included in the poll. After the voting closes, all votes will be counted. PlayStation will announce the result on its social channels and on PlayStation.Blog. That means the final choice won't be made by the editorial team but by the gaming community. August's list is particularly diverse, so it's hard to point to a clear favorite before the results are known. Now it all depends on which of the 20 nominated titles will gain the most support.
PlayStation has launched the August edition of the Players’ Choice vote, in which players choose the best new game of the month. The list includes 20 titles, including MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, Madden NFL 27, Beast of Reincarnation and Serious Sam: Shatterverse. Each participant can pick the title they think was the best August release. After voting ends, PlayStation will announce the winner on its social channels and blog.
