Apple officially unveiled the fourth-generation Apple TV 4K. The new streaming player features a significantly more powerful A19 chip, support for the AV1 codec, and expanded home theater capabilities. It also includes AI features and an improved remote. Price? As much as 1,499 zł.
The most important change is the use of the Apple A19 chip, which the manufacturer says provides up to 50% higher CPU performance and even up to twice the graphics performance compared with the previous generation. This should translate to smoother performance of the system, apps, and games. A hardware AV1 decoder is also new. Thanks to it, the device can play high-quality content more efficiently while using less internet bandwidth.
4K, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. What about picture quality?
The new Apple TV supports playback of 4K at up to 60 frames per second, as well as Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR10 and HLG. Despite having HDMI 2.1, the device does not offer 4K at 120 Hz. It also includes a hardware AV1 decoder that enables more efficient playback of high-quality content while using less network bandwidth. It also supports the HEVC, H.264, and VP9 codecs.
On the audio side, it supports Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital 5.1, and Dolby Digital Plus 7.1. The biggest addition, however, is the ability to create a wireless spatial audio setup from four HomePod speakers that automatically adapt their output to the room.
The U.S. version of the Apple TV 4K also gains three microphones for voice control without the remote and a new Siri AI that lets you search for movies and series using natural commands. The new Siri AI features will, of course, not be available in Polish at launch. We've probably gotten used to that 😉. Apple initially announced support only for English in selected markets.
Preorders for the Apple TV 4K are already open, and the device will be in stores on November 13, 2026. The price is 1499 zł.
