Acer has unveiled the new Nitro XV273X V monitor, which may appeal to both gamers and people who work with images. The device features Dual Mode, allowing users to switch between 5K at 180 Hz and WQHD at up to 330 Hz. Interestingly, its price isn't as high as the specs might suggest.

Dual Mode

The new Acer uses a 27-inch Fast IPS panel with a native resolution of 5120 × 2880 pixels. Thanks to Dual Mode the user can choose one of two display modes. The first offers 5K at 180 Hz, delivering high detail useful when working with graphics or watching movies. The second drops the resolution to 2560 × 1440 pixels but raises the refresh rate to 330 Hz, which should be of particular interest to esports fans.

330 Hz, HDR 600 and HDMI 2.1

The manufacturer declares a 1 ms GtG response time, a 600-nit peak brightness and 95% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space. The monitor also received DisplayHDR 600 certification, supports AMD FreeSync Premium and is compatible with NVIDIA G-SYNC. Onboard are two HDMI 2.1 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4, a headphone output and two 2 W speakers. The stand allows height adjustment, tilt and swivel.

The Acer Nitro XV273X V is already on sale in China for 4,699 yuan, roughly 2,700 PLN (simple conversion). So far the manufacturer has not confirmed a European launch or a Polish price. The new model shows that gamers no longer have to choose between high resolution and very fast refresh rates. Although, of course, fully taking advantage of both will require a suitably powerful PC.
