Sony has revealed two new limited DualSense controllers created to mark the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI. Both models are inspired by the vibe of Vice City, which will be one of the most important locations in Rockstar Games' upcoming title. The controllers will come in black and white colorways and feature distinctive elements referencing the city. They will go on sale on November 19, 2026, the same day GTA VI hits the market. Preorders for both models will begin on September 10.
Two controllers inspired by Vice City
Sony has released two versions of the limited DualSense controller: Grand Theft Auto VI Black Limited Edition and Grand Theft Auto VI White Limited Edition. Both variants were designed to capture Vice City’s distinctive style. Sony used an iridescent surface that shifts color depending on the viewing angle. The finish blends colors associated with a Vice City sunset and the neon lights that brighten the city at night. The shell also features special palm-tree details. Importantly, these elements are integrated directly into the controller’s construction, so they also have a noticeable texture. The official Grand Theft Auto VI branding is included as well. The white version is meant to represent daytime Vice City, evoking bright beaches, a pastel sky, and the city’s calmer character. The black variant was designed as a nod to Vice City’s nightlife. Both models will be produced in limited quantities. The white version will be available through the official PlayStation Store and selected retailers in certain markets. The black model will be available directly from PlayStation where the direct.playstation.com store operates, and in other regions it will appear at selected retailers.
DualSense will harness the PS5's capabilities in GTA VI
The new controllers aren't limited to a changed appearance, as GTA VI will also use DualSense's signature features. Haptic vibrations will respond to on-screen events and convey different sensations tied to the action to the player. Adaptive triggers will offer dynamic resistance when interacting with various gameplay elements. Sony says these features will make Jason and Lucia's story feel more immediate in the player's hands. The controller's features will react to events that occur during gameplay. This is part of a broader push to promote GTA VI as a title that takes advantage of the PlayStation 5's capabilities. Rockstar Games is preparing the game for release on November 19, 2026. The game will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. PC was not listed among the platforms for this release. The limited-edition controllers themselves will be compatible accessories for PS5 owners. Their recommended retail price will be $84.99, or 370 zł, depending on the market. In Japan the price has been set at ¥12,480 including tax. Pre-orders will begin on September 10 at 10:00 local time in the specified markets. Exact availability and the controllers' launch date may, however, vary by country.
