Google is launching a new experimental project within Google Labs. CC is an AI agent based on the Gemini model, aimed at facilitating daily work organization without the need to use multiple applications. Everything is done via email.
One email instead of several applications
After signing up for the program, CC connects with Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, and online information. Based on this, every morning it sends a message “Your Day Ahead,” which is a concise summary of the day. In one email, the user receives a schedule of meetings, a list of key tasks, and the most important updates. CC can remind you about a bill to pay, an upcoming deadline, or preparations for a meeting, making it easier to plan your day from the morning.
Quick action without leaving the mailbox
The assistant is not limited to just informing. When action is needed, CC can prepare a draft email or generate a link to an event in the calendar. This shortens the path from reminder to task completion and allows for more matters to be handled directly from the inbox.
CC operates in the form of two-way communication. The user can respond to its message or write a separate email asking it to add a task, save a note, remember an idea, or search for information. Over time, the assistant is expected to better understand the preferences and work style of the account owner.
Early Google Labs Experiment
Google emphasizes that CC is an early testing version. The service is available as early access for individual users of Google accounts aged 18+, exclusively in the USA and Canada. Initially, it includes subscribers of Google AI Pro and Ultra. Workspace accounts, which are business and educational, are currently not supported. Interested individuals can sign up for the waiting list on the Google website.
Another Attempt to Harness Productivity Through AI
Email as a Day Management Center is not a new idea. Similar solutions were previously offered by Mindy, Read AI, or Fireflies, while Huxe takes it a step further by turning the daily brief into a podcast. However, CC stands out by providing access to the full context – email, calendar, and files simultaneously. Google is checking if an AI assistant that simply lands in the email inbox can realistically help with day organization. CC is another signal that the market for personal AI assistants is just gaining momentum.
