Google is expanding its assistant on televisions, and it's doing so specifically. Gemini on Google TV is getting a major update that changes the way AI is used on the big screen. Instead of simple answers, a more interactive experience is emerging that combines images, videos, and text. New interface and more visible Gemini
One of the first changes is moving Gemini to a more visible location. The assistant goes directly to the top bar next to sections like Home and Apps. This means that Google wants AI to be the central element of the system, not just an add-on hidden in a menu. The change may seem minor, but in practice, it increases the likelihood that users will use AI features more often.
AI Responses with Video and Interaction
However, the biggest novelty is the expanded visual responses. Instead of regular text, Gemini now shows a mix of graphics, videos, and information. For example, when asking about sports, you can see live scores and immediately check where to watch the match. In the case of recipes, step-by-step video materials appear. There is also the “Dive deeper” option, which allows for a deeper exploration of the topic and more detailed explanations. This makes the television start to operate a bit like an interactive educational platform.
Google is also developing features for sports fans. The new “sports briefs” offer short, narrative summaries of events for those who couldn't watch the game. Users receive scores, highlights, and key information about teams and players all in one place. This solution aims to reach people who want to stay up to date but don’t always have time for full broadcasts.
The new update shows that Google wants to make Gemini something more than just an ordinary assistant. AI on the TV is intended to be more visual, interactive, and useful in everyday life. If this direction persists, Google TV could become one of the most interesting smart TV systems on the market.
