EA SPORTS NHL 27 offers EA Play subscribers a 10-hour trial as part of early access. Players can use it to try the most important new features of this year’s hockey installment before deciding whether to buy. One of the biggest changes is Connected Franchise mode, which lets you create your own league with up to 32 teams controlled by real players. The developers also rebuilt the broadcast presentation and all 32 NHL arenas. Players who later decide to purchase the full game will keep their trial progress.
New Connected Franchise mode will let you create your own league
The biggest new feature in NHL 27 is Connected Franchise, an expanded mode designed for competing with friends. Players can create their own league, assemble teams, and manage them throughout a full online season. Up to 32 human managers can participate, so each team can be controlled by a separate player. The mode also lets you set your own league rules. Users get tools for roster management, among other things. It’s also possible to plan the match schedule yourself. Additional commissioner tools handle league organization. The developers want to give players greater control over how the entire season unfolds. Competitions can be tailored to personal preferences instead of relying solely on a preset format. Beyond team management, the most important part remains direct on-ice competition. Connected Franchise therefore aims to combine team management elements with classic player-vs-player matches. The whole system is designed as a foundation for running your own league over a full season. EA Play lets you try this mode before deciding to purchase the full version of NHL 27.
All NHL arenas have received a refreshed presentation
NHL 27 is also designed to better capture the atmosphere of real games thanks to overhauled arenas for all 32 NHL teams. Each venue has been recreated to better reflect the character and traditions of the team it represents. The game includes authentic goal songs played after goals as well as distinctive fan chants. The developers also paid attention to the visual details of each arena. Dynamic lighting and big screens are also designed to respond to events during a game. The changes also include the TV broadcast presentation of matches. EA has prepared a fully refreshed broadcast package with a more contemporary style. New graphics appear, for example, before the start of the game and throughout the match. Camera work has also been reworked to better show events on the ice. The presentation system is meant to provide more information between stoppages in play. An important part of the new presentation is additional highlight content showcasing the game's key moments. EA Play provides access not only to NHL 27 but also to monthly rewards in other EA titles. In September, users can claim rewards for Apex Legends, Madden NFL 27, EA Sports College Football 27, and Battlefield 6.
EA SPORTS NHL 27 is now available to try via a 10-hour trial period for EA Play subscribers.
