Another Price Increase in the USA – Other Countries Also in Line
Starting from October 21, 2025, Disney+ will become more expensive in the United States. The basic plan (with ads) will cost 11.99 USD per month, and the premium package without ads and in 4K quality will rise to 18.99 USD per month.
Let’s remember that Disney+ launched in 2019 with a price of 7 USD/month – significantly undervalued to quickly build a user base. Since then, the service has undergone several price increases: in December 2022, October 2023, and October 2024.
Why another price hike?
Officially, Disney explains the changes by citing higher production and platform maintenance costs, but a new wave of criticism has emerged in connection with the suspension of the show Jimmy Kimmel Live. This is the toughest PR period for the platform in years.
It's not just Disney+ that is getting more expensive. Netflix raised its prices in January 2025 to $8/month with ads and $18/month without ads. The head of HBO Max recently stated that their service is still “too cheap.” The streaming market is consistently moving toward higher subscription fees.

What does this mean for users?

In Poland and Europe, the new rates will be revealed in the coming weeks - one thing is certain: it won't get any cheaper.
