Capcom held another Spotlight presentation, during which it revealed updates for its most important franchises. The company focused mainly on the expansion for Dragon’s Dogma 2, new footage from Onimusha, and fresh content for Monster Hunter Stories 3. There were new trailers, information about free updates, and details on upcoming releases. For fans of the Japanese studio, it was one of the most important presentations in recent months. Capcom showed it intends to continue heavily supporting its biggest series even after the release of the base games.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 gets a huge expansion, and Monster Hunter Stories 3 is already expanding
One of the biggest announcements was Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, a large expansion prepared two years after the base game’s release. The add-on will launch on October 9 both as a standalone expansion and as a complete edition for new players. The action will take players to the new, icebound region of Norgan, where a mysterious Fallen Dragon will appear along with a new heroine named Eir. The expansion will also introduce the Relic Expedition Cycle system, which involves exploring new areas, acquiring relics and trading them for progressively more powerful gear. The developers have prepared 12 new Lost Rites dungeons, additional hairstyles, tattoos and more character customization options. Capcom also announced a free update for the base game that will increase the number of save slots, expand active skills from four to six and improve performance.
At the same time, Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is being developed in parallel. A paid add-on, Additional Side Story: Rudy, is already available, expanding the story of the familiar character Navirou and introducing new plot threads. In the DLC, players will also face the legendary monster Nergigante, known from Monster Hunter: World. In addition, a free update added exceptionally tough endgame challenges in the form of Royal Monsters, intended for the most experienced players. Capcom clearly shows it intends to support Monster Hunter Stories 3 long after launch.
Onimusha returns after years, and Capcom reminds us of its biggest franchises
During the presentation there was also new footage of Onimusha: Way of the Sword, the first new entry in the series in almost two decades. Capcom revealed a new enemy called Dohatsu-ten, who will be one of the main bosses in the upcoming game. The powerful demon fights with a sword, grows stronger with each wound inflicted, and can absorb opponents' souls, increasing its strength during battle. The main protagonist remains Miyamoto Musashi, who, thanks to the mysterious Oni Power, takes up the fight again against the demonic Genma in a dark version of feudal Kyoto. Capcom also reminded fans that the game's release is this September, and players can already download a free demo available on PlayStation 5. The entire presentation showed that the Japanese developer doesn't intend to slow down. The company is simultaneously developing new installments of well-known franchises, supporting already released titles with major updates, and investing in expanded story DLC. As a result, the coming months look particularly intense for fans of Capcom's games. In particular, Dragon's Dogma 2 and Onimusha are currently among the studio's most anticipated projects. Everything suggests the developer is preparing a very strong second half of the year for its biggest series.
Capcom Spotlight 2026 delivered several major announcements. Dragon's Dogma 2 will get a large Dark Arisen expansion, Monster Hunter Stories 3 received new DLC and a free update, and Onimusha: Way of the Sword unveiled another powerful enemy ahead of its September release.
