Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is preparing a huge update. Season 03 starts on April 2 and brings one of the largest content packs in recent times. New maps, modes, weapons, and changes in Warzone are just the beginning. However, the biggest surprise is the decision to make one of the modes completely free.
Endgame for free and a new direction for gameplay
The most important change is that the mode Endgame is transitioning to a free-to-play model - at least for a limited time. This is a cooperative PvE mode where players team up, face bosses, and develop their characters through successive attempts. The progression system allows you to unlock new skills and equipment, making each gameplay session feel different. A new feature is the so-called Operations, which are sets of objectives spread over several sessions. The first of these, Operation Poison Pill, introduces additional rewards, new challenges, and special bosses. This is a clear step towards keeping players engaged for longer and increasing replayability.
New Maps and Multiplayer Modes
Season 03 adds a lot of new features to multiplayer. At the start, the maps Beacon and Abyss appear, along with returning locations known from previous installments. Additionally, there are new modes such as Demolition, and more gameplay variants throughout the season, including more experimental options like parkour Freerun and Freeze Tag. Changes also include equipment – a new Scorestreak is introduced that can deal area damage even through walls, which can significantly impact gameplay balance.
Warzone and Zombies are also getting a solid update
The update doesn't overlook Warzone. A new location appears on the Verdansk map, which is set to change the dynamics of combat and introduce fresh places to explore. The Zombies mode is also getting new maps and content right at the start of the season, with additional elements set to appear throughout its duration. This shows that Season 03 does not focus solely on one mode but develops the entire Call of Duty ecosystem simultaneously.
Season 03 in Black Ops 7 is one of the biggest updates in recent months. New maps, modes, and free access to Endgame show that the creators want to attract both new players and retain current ones. If you're looking for fresh content in Call of Duty, the beginning of April looks really promising.
