Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced, Ubisoft shows major improvements

Ubisoft has revealed new details about Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced, and it seems that the developers have significantly rebuilt the foundations of gameplay. The changes include combat, parkour, and stealth, with the aim of creating a more dynamic and modern experience while maintaining the atmosphere of the original Black Flag. The biggest focus is on the new enemy system, which is designed to react to the player's style of play and encourage a more creative approach to combat.

Smarter Enemies and More Challenging Combat

The new "Adaptive Enemies" system makes it so that opponents learn the player's behaviors during combat. If someone uses the same moves too often, such as parries or kicks, the enemies will start to adjust to this by using attacks that are unblockable or by avoiding repeated combinations. As a result, combat is intended to be less predictable and more engaging than in the original. Ubisoft wants players to regularly change their fighting style, utilize different weapons, and smoothly transition between offense and defense.

Additionally, enemies will be divided into archetypes with their own behaviors and weaknesses. Some are meant to cooperate in groups, while others will require breaking through defenses or employing the right strategy before delivering a finishing blow. All of this aims to make encounters more tactical and less predictable.

Parkour and stealth inspired by Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Ubisoft has also improved character movement. Edward is supposed to be faster, more responsive, and less "heavy" to control. Parkour has been revamped to resemble the more modern installments of the series, particularly Assassin's Creed Shadows. Players will gain greater freedom of movement, the ability to climb more smoothly, perform side jumps, or use new paths while fleeing and exploring. Changes will also be made to stealth. Crouching will no longer be restricted solely to specific cover, allowing for more natural movement in the shadows and planning of opponent eliminations. Additionally, classic gadgets are returning, such as sleeping darts, smoke bombs, and the rope dart, which are intended to enhance silent operation.
