Silo, Star Trek and The Dog Stars are this summer's biggest premieres
One of the biggest TV events is the third season of Silo, whose new episodes arrive on Apple TV on a weekly schedule. Autumn and winter will bring more major science fiction premieres
Several highly anticipated productions have also been announced for the second half of the year. Amazon Prime Video has confirmed that the series Blade Runner 2099 will debut in November. That same month, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping will also hit theaters. One of the biggest events at the end of the year, however, will be Dune: Part Three, scheduled to premiere on December 18. The same day Avengers: Doomsday will also hit theaters, setting up a particularly heated box office rivalry. Cyberpunk fans are meanwhile waiting for a TV adaptation of William Gibson’s novel Neuromancer. The production has already received its first trailer, but an exact release date has not yet been announced. There is speculation the series could debut on Apple TV before the end of 2026. If those plans come together, the second half of the year will be exceptionally rich in science fiction releases. Many of them represent the biggest and most recognizable franchises in the genre. All that remains is to wait for more trailers and official release dates. Everything suggests that 2026 will go down as a very successful year for science fiction fans.
