Microsoft is preparing a special edition of its current console to mark the 25th anniversary of the Xbox brand. The Xbox Series X25 will feature a distinctive semi-transparent green casing through which some of the device's components will be visible. The console is due to go on sale in November 2026, but according to the latest reports its price could be very high.

The console and its included controller will feature a semi-transparent green design that lets you see inside the device. The whole is complemented by special "Xbox 25" markings intended to underline the collectible nature of the hardware. Technically, however, you should not expect a revolution, as the Xbox Series X25 is said to use components corresponding to the standard Xbox Series X.
Microsoft may also prepare a special system presentation, including anniversary artwork in the console's interface. The biggest attraction remains the device's appearance itself. Semi-transparent consoles have a long history in the world of Xbox, which is why Microsoft decided to use this motif again for the 25th anniversary. The set will also include a specially designed controller, though the company intends to sell additional units separately.

However, the biggest controversy may be the price. According to information obtained by Dealabs Magazine, the Xbox Series X25 is set to cost €899.99 in Europe, which is €100 more than the standard Xbox Series X with a 1 TB drive. In the United States the price is expected to be around $899, to which applicable state tax would be added. That means you will pay a lot for the special edition, especially as it is not expected to offer a significant performance advantage over the regular Series X. So the high price will mainly pay for the device’s unique appearance and collectible nature. Microsoft plans to launch the Xbox Series X25 in November 2026, meaning the console could hit the market right in the holiday shopping period. The company has also confirmed that additional controllers will be available to buy separately, though their price has not yet been revealed. If the base bundle really does cost around €900, the Xbox Series X25 will be aimed primarily at the brand’s biggest fans and collectors, rather than people looking for the most cost-effective way to play.
