Microsoft has launched another edition of Free Play Days, allowing players to try selected titles on Xbox consoles free of charge. This week’s offer includes games available exclusively to Xbox Game Pass members as well as titles open to all platform users. The biggest draw is the chance to play GTA Online for free without the need for an active subscription. Other included titles are Planet Zoo, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and Crisol: Theater of Idols. Players can download selected titles directly from the Microsoft Store or via their Xbox console. After the event ends the games will be available to buy at discounted prices and all progress made will be retained.

GTA Online and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 available to all Xbox players

The biggest new feature of this edition of Free Play Days is the chance to try GTA Online for free on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. Rockstar Games' title will be available to all Xbox users from 14 to 21 July and does not require an active Xbox Game Pass subscription. Players can freely explore Los Santos and take part in the latest activities available in the game's online mode. Microsoft has also made Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 available without the need for a subscription. The game lets players create their own warrior and fight alongside heroes from the Dragon Ball universe. It offers an extensive online mode and the opportunity to play with others from around the world. After the free period ends, both games will be available to buy at discounted prices, with saved progress and unlocked achievements preserved. It's a good opportunity for those who have been wanting to try these titles before purchasing. Once again, Microsoft is relying on established franchises to attract new players.

Game Pass provides access to three more titles

Subscribers to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium and Essential have received access to three additional games as part of Free Play Days. The first is Crisol: Theater of Idols, a survival horror set in a dark version of Spain, where the protagonist’s own blood serves as ammunition. The second is Planet Zoo: Console Edition, which lets you build and manage a modern zoo populated by animals that behave realistically. The third title is Looney Tunes: Wacky World of Sports, an arcade sports game starring characters from the classic cartoons. The game offers competition in basketball, football, golf and tennis, and supports local multiplayer for up to four players. All three games are available to try from 16 to 19 July. After the event ends, participants will keep any achievements and saved progress if they decide to purchase the full versions. Microsoft notes that the availability of the promotion and the level of discounts may vary by region. Free Play Days remains one of the regular features of Xbox Game Pass, allowing players to test new titles at no extra cost.

The new edition of Free Play Days brings five free games for Xbox users, including GTA Online and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 available without requiring a Game Pass. Subscribers can also try Crisol: Theater of Idols, Planet Zoo and Looney Tunes: Wacky World of Sports. It's a good opportunity to test a few different titles and decide whether it's worth buying their full versions.
