Gamescom 2026 looks set to be particularly interesting for Xbox fans. Microsoft has confirmed it will appear at the show with an expanded booth and a large number of playable demos of upcoming titles. The event will also serve as an opportunity to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Xbox brand. Visitors can expect over a hundred gaming stations and many premiere showcases. There will also be meetings with developers and streams for those who cannot be in Cologne. The company promises one of its biggest presentations in its history at gamescom.

Over 25 games and 140 hands-on stations await visitors

Microsoft has announced that the Xbox booth at gamescom 2026 will offer 25 upcoming games and 140 hands-on stations to try new titles. One of the biggest attractions will be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, whose multiplayer mode will be available to try before launch. For the first time the public will also be able to play the campaign for Gears of War: E-Day. Visitors can also experience the first playable version of Minecraft Dungeons II. Fans of Fable will see a special gameplay showcase prepared by Playground Games. Microsoft will also let attendees try METRO 2039, STRANGER THAN HEAVEN and the remastered Halo: Campaign Evolved. The booth will also feature Forza Horizon 6, showcasing new features and upcoming collaborations. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will be present as well with new content inspired by air racing. In total, players will be able to try dozens of titles spanning a wide range of genres. Microsoft emphasises that the event is meant to be a celebration of the Xbox community and an opportunity to reflect on the brand's history. As part of the celebrations there will also be special interactive attractions dedicated to 25 years of the console. The programme will be rounded off with meetings with developers and presentations of new trailers.

Online streams and numerous attractions for gamescom attendees

People who can't make it to the Cologne show will be able to follow the event via streams on YouTube and Twitch. The streams will take place on 26 and 27 August and will include interviews with developers, gameplay demos and premiere trailers. Microsoft has also announced the return of the Xbox FanFest, which will take place on 26 August at the Xbox stand. The company has prepared a range of accessibility features. On site there will be, among other things, Xbox Adaptive Controllers, adjustable-height stations and a dedicated quiet zone. The organisers will also provide sign language interpreters and audio description at selected times. The Xbox stand will be located in hall 7 and will remain open for the duration of the show. Microsoft hopes this will allow as many players as possible to familiarise themselves with the upcoming releases. This year's gamescom therefore looks set to be one of the most important events for Xbox fans. All signs point to the company having prepared an especially rich programme of attractions.

Xbox will celebrate its 25th anniversary in style at gamescom 2026. Dozens of playable demos, premieres of new trailers, meetings with developers and an extensive online streaming programme mean this year's show will be a must-attend event for fans of Microsoft's games.
