OLED monitors were until recently the preserve of the most demanding gamers, but the situation is changing rapidly. Prices are falling, manufacturers are introducing more and more models, and interest in the technology is clearly growing. According to Omdia's latest forecasts, more than 6 million OLED panels intended for monitors will reach the market in 2026. That's 79% more than the year before.
OLEDs are getting cheaper quickly
Data from market research firm Omdia shows that global shipments of OLED panels for monitors are expected to reach 6.1 million units this year. By 2027 that number is set to rise to 7.5 million. ASUS remains the largest customer for panels, accounting for about 23% of orders. Following it are MSI, Samsung and TPV, which owns brands including AOC and Philips.
The growing interest is driven mainly by gamers, who value OLEDs' deep blacks, high contrast and lightning-fast response times. Prices are also becoming increasingly important.
According to Omdia, popular 27-inch OLED monitors with a 240 Hz refresh rate fell in price by more than 40% in 2026. In the first half of the year prices for some higher-end models dropped to around $350, and in 2027 they could approach $300. In Poland you can easily buy an OLED today for about 1,500 zł.
TCL could make waves in the market. Plans even include 700 Hz
TCL CSOT is also preparing major changes and wants to challenge Samsung Display and LG Display. The company is developing inkjet printing (IJP) technology for OLED panels, which helps reduce material losses during production. We covered this in more detail on ChooseTV.
The arrival of another major manufacturer could increase competition and further lower panel production costs. For gamers, that means the prospect of a growing choice of OLED monitors at more affordable prices. For now, however, it is not clear when the new technologies will translate into the prices of specific models in Polish shops.
