Instead of standard wishes, we have something specific for you: 9 film suggestions chosen by the MEGOGO platform. The list was created in collaboration with the women from the service team, who selected the most interesting stories – from touching dramas to absolutely outrageous comedies. There's no dullness here, just plenty of feminine energy!
1. Parallel Mothers
This is a suggestion from master Almodóvar. If you enjoy cinema that plays on emotions, the story of two single women who meet in the maternity ward will not disappoint you. Janis (Penélope Cruz) and Ana are at completely different ages and stages in life, but they share a bond stronger than anything else. Beautiful, tender, and very life-affirming cinema.
2. Back to Black. The Story of Amy Winehouse
Amy Winehouse needs no introduction. This film is a tribute to her incredible talent, but also an uncompromising look at how destructive fame can be. You will see her journey from London's Camden to global heights. It’s a powerful piece, not just for music fans.
3. The Girl in the Fog
Something for fans of darker themes. This is an adaptation of the bestseller by Donato Carrisi, in which a teenager goes missing in a small mountain town. Instead of quick chases, we have a dense atmosphere, media manipulation, and a great performance by Jean Reno. If you enjoy mysteries, this crime thriller will draw you in.
4. Tomorrow Will Be Ours
An Italian hit that performed better in local cinemas than "Barbie" or "Oppenheimer"! The action takes place in post-war Rome and tells the story of women who were the first to dare to confront violence. Despite the difficult subject matter, the film is full of emotions and has one of the most satisfying endings in recent years.
5. International Women's Day
Polish accent on the list and the debut of Maria Sadowska. This is a story inspired by true events about a woman who challenges a large corporation. If you are looking for inspiration to fight for your rights, the character played by Katarzyna Kwiatkowska is the perfect example of strength and independence.
6. What does a woman wish for
Sharon Stone as a fashion designer, who despite her professional successes, still cannot find the one and only. It's a light yet wise tale about how life (and love) can surprise us in the least expected moment – for example, exactly on the day of our birthday.
7. I'm So Beautiful!
Amy Schumer in her element. Her character hits her head and suddenly starts seeing a goddess in the mirror, even though... nothing has changed. It's a brilliant comedy about how important our self-confidence is and how the world changes when we finally start to like ourselves.
8. Barbie
This film simply had to be included. Greta Gerwig has created more than just a fairy tale about dolls – it is an intelligent and humorous story about the modern world. Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling are simply brilliant in this duo. If you haven't seen it yet, International Women's Day is the perfect occasion.
9. Sex in the City
A classic of the genre. Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda return to show that friendship is the most important thing under the sun. New York, fashion, and romantic dilemmas – it's always a good choice for an evening with the girls.
