The latest Marvel film – Thunderbolts* The New Avengers – has just landed on VOD platforms. It is already available for purchase on Apple TV, Prime Video, and Rakuten, among others. The standard? Up to 4K, Dolby Vision HDR, and Dolby Atmos – although not everywhere.
This is the 36th film in the MCU and the final chapter of the so-called Phase 5. Marvel has also released quite a few series on Disney+, but Thunderbolts* wraps it all up before entering Phase 6, which will kick off at the end of July with Fantastic Four: First Steps.
Reviews? Very good. Money? According to Marvel, not the best – 380 million dollars. Probably that's why the film appears on streaming about 2 months after its cinema release.
What's next? It will only arrive on Disney+ "later this year", so if you don't want to wait, purchasing is the only option. And if you prefer physical editions – the UHD Blu-ray version will be released on 29th July.
