Stranger Things 5 Trailer: Eleven officially develops… the power of flight?

Eleven vs. Vecna – Stranger Things 5 In season 5, Eleven may gain the upper hand with her new flying power. Will she end the battle with Vecna once and for all?

Well, we've got it. Netflix has released a teaser for the fifth season of Stranger Things and it seems that the creators have decided to go all out. Eight years after the premiere of the first episode, Eleven (that is Millie Bobby Brown, of course) has likely acquired a new, absolutely crucial ability. And no, this time it’s not another variation on telekinesis – she flies. Or at least is starting.

Short jump, big change

In the trailer, there is one scene that literally shatters the patterns. The eleven is running through a field, trying to get onto the roof of an abandoned bus – and she doesn’t do it "like a human." She simply… flies. Or jumps so far and high that it’s hard to call it an ordinary leap. It’s something more. Just a few seconds, but the context says it all: this is no longer the same girl who once barely closed the gate to the Upside Down, bleeding from her nose.

This is not a coincidence. It’s a sign of a totally renewed heroine.

Let's take a step back for a moment: what could she already do?

Since the first season, we know that Eleven can do more than any other child from the lab in Hawkins. Telekinesis? Checked. Telepathy? Also. "The Void" – that space where she searches for people in black? Of course. And in the fourth season, something even more powerful was added – the attempt to resurrect Max. And this is not about a symbolic "saving," but about actually restarting a heart using psionics. The girl died, Eleven entered the Void and… brought her back. Max returned, although in a coma.

It was a breakthrough moment. If she can save someone from the other side, then seriously – flying starts to sound quite realistic.

But... did anything suggest earlier that it would take off?

Yes, but subtly. In the second season (do you remember the finale with closing the gate?) we saw Eleven levitating. It was something like a side effect of maximum power usage. At that time, she still didn't have control over it – she was floating in the air because her body couldn't withstand the strain. But now? It seems she has learned to direct that power, not just endure it.

And that makes a colossal difference. When someone stops being a victim of their own power and starts to consciously use it – we are witnessing an evolution. And this is an evolution on the level of "MCU finale," not just teenage sci-fi.

Vecna? I see it faintly…

Vecna can obviously float – but more thanks to the tendrils and the surroundings than independently. It's more of a "controlled horror" than true flying power. And this is where Eleven steps up a level. If she truly masters conscious flight – with telekinesis and empathy included – it may turn out that she will be the key to closing this entire story.

Release date? Set yourself a reminder in the calendar:

  • Volume 1 – 26 November 2025

  • Volume 2 – 25 December 2025

  • Volume 3 – 31 December 2025

So Netflix is giving us the final trilogy as a present under the Christmas tree. Literally. And after this teaser – it looks like it's going to be more "Endgame" than "stranger nostalgia". And that's just fine. Because fans have been waiting for this development of "Eleven's" powers for years.
