The company has already confirmed that the device will debut in the summer, but the specific date remains unknown. However, this does not deter the gaming community from searching for further hints. This time, attention has been drawn to documents submitted to the American FCC. According to some fans, this may be where the answer lies to the question of when Valve's new console will go on sale.
FCC Documents May Reveal Steam Machine Release Date
The community surrounding Valve has long been known for analysing the smallest details related to the company's new products. This time, one Reddit user decided to compare the FCC documentation concerning earlier Valve devices with the current filings related to the Steam Machine. According to his observations, a similar pattern emerged previously with the release of the Steam Controller. The device's documentation was submitted to the FCC many months before its debut, and some materials, such as instructions and product photos, remained hidden until the hardware was available for sale. A similar situation is currently said to apply to the Steam Machine. Information suggests that some confidential documents are set to be publicly disclosed on 29 June 2026. It is this date that has become the basis for speculation about the device's release. Proponents of the theory believe that Valve may launch the hardware for sale even before the full documentation is published. Of course, this does not constitute any official confirmation. Nevertheless, the timeline appears to align with the company’s previous actions. All the more so since Valve has previously announced the device's launch during the summer period. If the theory proves accurate, gamers may learn about the new platform much sooner than expected.
The price remains the biggest unknown
Even if the Steam Machine does indeed debut in June, this does not automatically mean the device will be a success. The biggest excitement currently surrounds the price issue.
