Samsung Odyssey G50SF – the cheapest OLED monitor in the brand's history!

Calendar 10/22/2025

Samsung Odyssey G50SF – the first affordable 27” 1440p 180 Hz OLED monitor. Perfect contrast and HDR10 at the lowest price in the brand’s history.

Samsung is expanding its OLED monitor line with a completely new model Odyssey G50SF – and what’s more, it is the most affordable OLED ever to be offered by the manufacturer.

The Odyssey G5 series was previously known for its cheap LCD screens, so the switch to OLED technology is a huge leap in quality – primarily due to perfect blacks, infinite contrast, and precise control over the brightness of each pixel.

OLED in a “budget” version

The G50SF model is equipped with a 27-inch QD-OLED panel with a resolution of 1440p, featuring a response time of 0.03 ms and a refresh rate of up to 180 Hz. The entire surface is covered with a matte anti-glare coating, and the colour reproduction impresses with 99% DCI-P3 coverage and support for HDR10.

However, Samsung has omitted several features to reduce costs – there is no Smart Hub Tizen system, speakers, or advanced ergonomics (only tilt adjustment is available). The monitor supports AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-Sync, and it offers HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.2 connections for user convenience.

Prices and Availability

The Odyssey G50SF has already debuted in New Zealand, Taiwan, and China, with prices approximately 570, 450, and 375 USD respectively. The global premiere is expected to happen soon – and all indications suggest that 2026 will bring a surge of cheaper OLEDs for gaming.

By comparison: current OLED models G6 and G8 typically start from approximately 999–1,299 USD, so the G50SF is actually almost half the price of previous Samsung OLEDs.

The model G50SF ranks lower than the more expensive G6, G8, and G9, but for many gamers, it may prove to be the best entry point into the world of OLED monitors – without the need to spend a fortune.
