The new “Peaky Blinders” series is coming! Steven Knight teases a continuation that could be even better than the original. Here’s what we know so far!

The universe of “Peaky Blinders” is not going to disappear from the scene. Although the main story of Thomas Shelby has come to an end, Steven Knight – the creator of the legendary series – has just confirmed that the new project will not only continue the saga of the family from Birmingham, but is intended to be “potentially better than the original”.

In an interview with the Broadcast service, Knight revealed that the new production will be set in the 1950s and will show the next generation of the Shelbys as the city tries to rebuild after the destruction of World War II. – I usually do things based on whether I feel like it. Right now, I feel that the time has come to return to my roots, where it all began – in Birmingham – said Knight, referring to the fact that the series will be produced in the renovated Digbeth Loc Studios.

Birmingham After the War and the New Era of the Shelbys

The action will take place in 1953, in a world dominated by concrete, steel, and a brutal race for power over the reconstruction of the city. The official description promises a rivalry of almost mythical proportions, full of betrayal, ambition, and blood – exactly what fans of “Peaky Blinders” love most. However, it is not known whether Cillian Murphy will return in the role of Thomas Shelby. What is known, however, is that the new series will be a continuation of the announced Peaky Blinders film, which is scheduled to premiere on Netflix in 2026.

In the film, we will see Stephen Graham (Hayden Stagg), Sophie Rundle (Ada Shelby), and Packy Lee (Johnny Dogs). This very project will show the fate of the family during World War II – and the new series is set to take over just after it.

Watch "Peaky Blinders" the way it should be watched – on the Samsung S95D TV

If you are planning to refresh all of "Peaky Blinders" before the premiere of the new series, there’s hardly a better choice than Samsung S95D. This is undoubtedly one of the best home cinema televisions of the 2024 model year – and currently available at great prices in the sale.

This model won the prestigious HDTV Shootout in the Best Home Theater TV category, outperforming the competition thanks to its phenomenal 4K picture quality. This is thanks to the third generation QD-OLED panel, which combines perfect blacks with high brightness and full colour coverage, ideal for films styled like "Peaky Blinders". A refresh rate of 144 Hz is also beneficial in dynamic scenes and games.

The picture is incredibly detailed, contrasting and immersive – especially after professional calibration. The only drawback may be the lack of Dolby Vision, but Samsung is focusing on HDR10+, which is increasingly appearing on services such as Netflix and Disney+. If you are keen on a cinematic experience in your living room – this is the television that brings Birmingham straight into your room.

The series "Peaky Blinders" is still available on Netflix, and its spirit – as can be seen – is just gaining momentum. If the new instalment truly delivers on Knight's promises, we are in for a return to the world of gangs, whisky, and elegant hats that all fans of Thomas Shelby have dreamed of.
