OLED monitors are set to reach a new level in 2026, and manufacturers have prepared an unusually wide range of new designs. The market will see both QD-OLED panels produced by Samsung Display and WOLED panels from LG Display. One of the most important new features will be panels with an RGB Stripe pixel arrangement, which may improve text legibility. Among the new models there will also be monitors offering very high refresh rates, up to 720 Hz. On top of that, there will be features such as DisplayPort 2.1, glossy coatings and new anti-reflective layers.
New OLED monitors will get increasingly faster
A list prepared by FlatpanelsHD shows how wide a selection of OLED monitors will be available in 2026. Manufacturers are focusing not only on image quality but also on very high refresh rates. Among the new designs are 1440p models reaching 540, 560, 720, and even 400 Hz for certain panels. Especially interesting are monitors aimed at esports players, where smooth motion and minimal latency matter most. An example is the Asus PG27AQWP-W with a Tandem WOLED panel offering 540 and 720 Hz modes. Similar capabilities are expected from models by AOC, Acer, LG and ViewSonic. There will also be fast 4K screens. For some models the refresh rate will be 240 Hz, while some designs will additionally offer 480 Hz modes. The Gigabyte FO32U24GP and Asus PG32UCWM are part of the group of 32-inch 4K monitors with 240/480 Hz modes. MSI, meanwhile, is preparing 4K models whose capabilities reach as high as 520 and 680 Hz in certain modes. Among the new products there will also be ultrawide monitors with 5K2K resolution. The LG 39GX950B and Alienware AW3926QW are said to offer 39-inch curved 5K2K screens with refresh rates up to 330 Hz. This means that OLED is no longer a technology associated solely with high image quality, but is increasingly entering the segment of the most demanding gaming monitors.
QD-OLED and WOLED will gain new capabilities
Equally important changes concern the panels themselves, as new generations of both QD-OLED and WOLED are expected to arrive in 2026. Samsung Display remains the main manufacturer of QD-OLED panels, while LG Display is responsible for the development of WOLED technology. One of the most interesting innovations are panels using an RGB Stripe pixel layout. This solution could potentially improve text sharpness and make OLED monitors better suited to work. RGB Stripe will appear, among others, in selected Tandem WOLED and Penta Tandem QD-OLED monitors. There will also be models on the market with improved anti-reflective coatings. Some manufacturers will opt for glossy finishes intended to deliver a more striking image. Another important trend is the growing adoption of DisplayPort 2.1. The new standard can be found in selected models from Asus, LG, MSI, Gigabyte and AOC. Particular attention should be paid to the new 32-inch 4K QD-OLED monitors, such as the Asus PG32UCDM Gen 3, which is set to offer 240 Hz, DisplayPort 2.1 and peak brightness of 1,300 nits. Selected Tandem WOLED models, meanwhile, are said to reach up to 1,500 nits. Manufacturers of the new OLED monitors include, among others, Acer, AOC, Asus, Dell, Gigabyte, HP, Lenovo, LG, MSI, Samsung, ViewSonic and Philips. TCL may also in future join the ranks of OLED panel makers with its own RGB OLED technology. All signs point to 2026 being one of the most important periods in the development of OLED monitors.
Manufacturers have lined up a huge number of new OLED monitors for 2026, covering both QD-OLED and WOLED. The most demanding gamers will get models reaching as high as 720 Hz, and in the 4K segment there will be models operating at up to 480 Hz. Important new features will also include RGB Stripe pixels, DisplayPort 2.1, glossy coatings and further generations of Tandem and Penta Tandem panels. Such a wide choice could make OLED an even more attractive alternative to traditional LCD monitors.
