The Chinese brand JMGO has officially presented its new projector O2S Ultra, referred to as the "smallest laser TV in the world" – and indeed, its specifications are impressive. The manufacturer claims that it is the projector with the shortest throw ratio on the market, at just 0.16:1.
What does this mean in practice? The device can display a 100-inch image from a distance of just 6.6 inches (approximately 17 cm) from the wall or screen. And if you move it a little further away – you can achieve even 150 inches.
Brightness, Colours and Image Technology
Under the casing sits a three-laser MALC 3.0 system, offering brightness of 3600 ISO lumens. Colours? Surprisingly wide coverage of 110% of the BT.2020 colour space, a native contrast of 4000:1 and a dynamic contrast of up to 3,000,000:1. JMGO promises that every colour is reproduced with maximum precision – even in a well-lit room.
The projector supports 4K resolution and HDR10, and the smart system is powered by Google TV. Thus, we have access to a full set of applications – Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ and Hulu are available immediately upon startup.
For Gamers and Film Enthusiasts
Two HDMI 2.1 ports allow you to connect consoles or media players. One of them supports eARC, so you can easily connect a soundbar or amplifier. The low latency mode is great for gaming in 4K.
Meanwhile, for those who prefer a ready-made audio solution – Dynaudio 2×20 W speakers are built in, supporting Dolby Audio and DTS HD.
Smart Features
The setup is fully automatic: autofocus, keystone correction, fit-to-screen and special software that can adjust the image even on uneven surfaces. The Bluetooth remote responds to voice commands and allows for playback control.
Price and Availability
The projector is available for pre-order in the American and Canadian markets, with a global premiere expected to occur soon afterwards.
