Granblue Fantasy: Relink is getting a major expansion. New content will be released to players as early as July.

Calendar 6/20/2026

Granblue Fantasy: Relink proved to be one of 2024's most pleasant surprises for fans of Japanese RPGs. Now the developers are preparing a major expansion that will significantly expand almost every aspect of the gameplay. Endless Ragnarok will offer a new story, additional characters, fresh endgame activities and tougher encounters. The developers make no secret of the fact that the expansion's aim is to give veterans dozens of extra hours of play. Importantly, those interested can already try the free demo of the base game.

New heroes and powerful summons change the combat system

The biggest addition in the expansion is an expanded summoning system that significantly affects how battles play out. Players will be able to use special creatures and supporting characters, taking control of them during combat. The mechanic is not only for dealing damage but also lets you survive the most dangerous enemy attacks thanks to brief invulnerability. Each summon has its own behaviour and specialises in different tasks. Some focus on offence, while others help control the battlefield or support the team. The expansion also introduces spectacular special attacks activated by specific team skill combinations. The developers have also prepared six new playable characters, whom series fans will recognise from earlier entries in the universe. Among those joining the roster are Gallanza, Beatrix, Eustace and Fediel. Each character offers a completely different playstyle and new team-building possibilities. The creators have also added extra bosses and powerful foes designed to challenge even the most experienced players. As a result, combat becomes more varied and requires more planning than before. Everything points to the combat system undergoing one of the biggest evolutions since the game's release. This element may be the main reason many players return to the world of Granblue Fantasy.

New difficulty tier and content for solo players

Endless Ragnarok is not limited to new characters and skills. The expansion also introduces the highest difficulty level, Chaos, designed for the most advanced players. Right from the very first missions it will offer a far greater challenge than previous endgame activities. Enemies will gain new abilities and bosses will use special attacks capable of ending fights instantly. Proper responses to warning cues and flawless dodges will become crucial. The developers hope the new difficulty will extend the game's life for many months to come. At the same time, something has been prepared for players who prefer to play alone. The new Conflux mode allows exploration of successive zones and the acquisition of random upgrades that affect the course of a particular session. The system resembles mechanics known from roguelikes, where each attempt plays out slightly differently. Players will gain unique bonuses, overcome successive challenges and gradually strengthen their character. The developers emphasise that the mode was designed specifically for those who do not want to use matchmaking and prefer solo play. Thanks to randomly generated modifiers, every run should offer fresh experiences. Everything suggests Conflux could become one of the expansion's most visited features by endgame-focused players.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink Endless Ragnarok looks set to be one of the biggest expansions prepared for the game since its release. New characters, a summoning system, the Chaos difficulty level and a Conflux mode are expected to significantly extend the game's lifespan. The expansion will debut on 9 July for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
