EA SPORTS NHL 27 offers EA Play subscribers a 10-hour trial as part of early access. Players can use it to try the most important new features in this year’s hockey instalment before deciding whether to buy. One of the biggest changes is the Connected Franchise mode, which lets you create your own league with up to 32 teams run by real players. The developers have also overhauled the broadcast presentation and all 32 NHL arenas. Anyone who later decides to buy the full version of the game will retain their progress from the trial.
The new Connected Franchise mode will let you create your own league
The biggest new feature in NHL 27 is Connected Franchise, an expanded mode designed for competing with friends. Players can create their own league, assemble teams and manage them through a full online season. Up to 32 human managers can take part, allowing each team to be controlled by a separate player. The mode also lets you set your own rules for how the league operates. Users receive tools for, among other things, roster management. It is also possible to plan the match schedule yourself. The organisation of the competition is further handled by tools intended for the league commissioner. The developers want to give players greater control over the course of the whole season. Competitions can be tailored to personal preferences instead of relying solely on a preset format. Apart from team management, the most important part remains the direct competition on the ice. Connected Franchise therefore aims to combine elements of team management with classic matches between players. The whole mode has been designed as a foundation for running your own league throughout a full season. EA Play lets you try this mode before deciding whether to purchase the full version of NHL 27.
All NHL arenas have been given a refreshed presentation
NHL 27 will also do a better job of capturing the atmosphere of real games thanks to revamped arenas for all 32 NHL teams. Each venue has been modelled to better reflect the character and traditions of the team it represents. The game features authentic goal songs and distinctive fan chants. The developers have also paid attention to details in the appearance of individual arenas. Dynamic lighting and large screens will further respond to events during a game. The changes also extend to the TV presentation of matches. EA has prepared a completely overhauled broadcast package with a more contemporary look. New graphics appear, for example, before the start of a match and during play. Camera work has also been reworked to better showcase on-ice action. The presentation system is intended to provide more information between stoppages in play. An important part of the new presentation is additional content highlighting the key moments of a match. EA Play provides access not only to NHL 27 but also to monthly rewards in other EA titles. In September users can claim rewards for Apex Legends, Madden NFL 27, EA Sports College Football 27 and Battlefield 6.
EA SPORTS NHL 27 is now available to try during a 10-hour trial period for EA Play subscribers. The main new feature is Connected Franchise, which lets you create an online league for up to 32 players. The game also includes rebuilt arenas for every NHL team and a new broadcast presentation. Progress from the trial will carry over if you buy the full game, and EA Play members can also take advantage of a 10% discount on digital EA purchases.
