CANAL+ has decided on a move that may please many subscribers using cheaper satellite packages. The operator has introduced temporary access to selected thematic channels of Telewizja Polsat without the need for an extra fee. The change applies to customers with packages from the Entry+ level. The promotion operates in the form of an open window and is set to last until further notice. This means that for a specified period, viewers can watch additional channels without extending their contract. However, the offer does not apply to users of the CANAL+ online streaming service.
Which channels have been included in the cheaper packages?
As part of the promotion, 10 thematic channels owned by the Polsat Plus Group have been made available. These include: Disco Polo Music, Polsat Cafe, Polsat Doku, Polsat Film, Polsat Games, Polsat News, Polsat News Polityka, Polsat Play, Polsat Rodzina, and Polsat Seriale. Access is granted automatically to subscribers of selected satellite packages. This does not require signing an annex or paying an additional fee. This solution may be particularly attractive for those who have not previously had access to some of these channels.
Signal of warming relations between CANAL+ and Polsat?
The decision to make thematic channels available could be another signal of improvement in relations between CANAL+ and the Polsat Plus Group. Recently, cooperation in the distribution of Eleven Sports has been extended, and both companies have previously exchanged selected thematic channels. At the same time, competition in the sports segment remains evident. CANAL+ subscribers still do not have access to Polsat Sport channels, and Polsat Box customers do not receive the full sports offering of CANAL+. Thus, cooperation is visible, but with clearly defined business boundaries.
Sharing 10 Polsat channels in the lower CANAL+ packages is a real added value for satellite subscribers. The promotion operates on a time-based formula, so it's worth checking availability on your account. This move could indicate a further rapprochement between both broadcasters, although in the area of sports, competition remains pronounced. We will have to wait for further strategic decisions from both companies.
