Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is preparing a huge update. Season 03 starts on 2nd April and brings one of the largest content packs in recent times. New maps, modes, weapons, and changes in Warzone are just the beginning. The biggest surprise, however, is the decision to make one of the modes completely free.
Endgame for free and a new direction for gameplay
The most important change is that the Endgame mode is transitioning to a free-to-play model - at least for a limited time. This is a cooperative PvE mode in which players fight in teams, face bosses, and develop their characters through successive attempts. The progression system allows players to unlock new skills and equipment, making each gameplay experience potentially different. A new feature is the so-called Operations, which are sets of objectives spread across several sessions. The first of these, Operation Poison Pill, introduces additional rewards, new challenges, and special bosses. This is a clear step towards keeping players engaged for longer and enhancing replayability.
New maps and multiplayer modes
Season 03 adds a lot of new features to multiplayer. At the start, we have the maps Beacon and Abyss, as well as returning locations known from earlier editions. Additionally, there are new modes like Demolition, and more gameplay variants throughout the season, including more experimental options such as the parkour Freerun or Freeze Tag. The changes also include equipment – a new Scorestreak appears that can deal area damage even through walls, which can significantly impact gameplay balance.
Warzone and Zombies also getting a solid update
The update does not bypass Warzone. A new location appears on the Verdansk map, which is set to change the dynamics of combat and introduce fresh places to explore. The Zombies mode is also receiving new maps and content right from the start of the season, with more elements expected to arrive during its duration. This demonstrates that Season 03 is not focused solely on one mode, but is simultaneously developing the entire Call of Duty ecosystem.
Season 03 in Black Ops 7 is one of the biggest updates in recent months. New maps, modes, and free access to Endgame show that the developers want to attract both new players and retain current ones. If you're looking for fresh content in Call of Duty, the beginning of April looks very promising.
