In the library of the service, we will find many classics of action cinema, sci-fi, or epic spectacles. Here are three older films on Disney+ that are definitely worth catching up on.

Avatar (2009)

James Cameron's film is one of the biggest hits in cinema history. The production transports viewers to the planet Pandora, where humans attempt to obtain valuable resources, entering into conflict with the local Na’vi civilisation. The main character, former soldier Jake Sully, joins the Avatar programme and begins to experience the world of Pandora from a completely different perspective. The film impresses with its enormous scale of production, special effects, and unique vision of the science fiction world. It is one of those productions that is best enjoyed on the big screen, but even after years, it still makes a huge impact.

Gladiator (2000)

A historical spectacle directed by Ridley Scott tells the story of Roman general Maximus, who, after betrayal, ends up in captivity and becomes a gladiator. The film won as many as 5 Oscars, including Best Picture and for Russell Crowe for Best Actor. The production is still considered one of the best historical spectacles in the history of cinema. Spectacular battle scenes, great music, and an emotionally charged story of revenge make "Gladiator" still highly enjoyable to watch.

Die Hard (1988)

A classic action film featuring Bruce Willis as John McClane, it is a film that forever changed the thriller genre. The action takes place in a skyscraper that is taken over by a group of terrorists led by the charismatic Hans Gruber, played by Alan Rickman. McClane is the only one trying to stop the assailants. The film is now regarded as one of the best action productions in the history of cinema and despite its age, it still holds up remarkably well.
